Queensland Academy of Health Sciences
Block A & C Refurbishment
This Design and Construct project for Qld Department of Education involved the extension, renovation, and fit out including associated works to an Administration Building and separate Library and Learning Centre located at Queensland Academy of Health Sciences (QAHS) at 102 Edmund Rice Drive, Southport QLD 4215. Works included inground, extension to the building footprint, structural steel, claddings, aluminium windows and doors, office and library fit out, extensive joinery, lighting, HVAC, security and fire.
To minimise disruption to school administration and learning activities, construction and fit out works were scheduled by APGC at the end of school year and with all operational spaces ready for occupancy prior to the start of the next school year. With the project being short delivery with only 3 months for all design and construct deliverables and handover, the design was required to be developed from concept to IFC within 6 weeks to allow all stakeholder design and sample approvals prior to the schools closure and ensure the works could be completed as planned.
